プロフィール
MONKEY MAJIK は、カナダ人兄弟Maynard -メイナード- (Vo&G)、Blaise -ブレイズ- (Vo&Gt) のフロントマンと日本人のリズム隊tax -タックス- (Dr)、DICK -ディック- (Ba) からなる仙台在住の4ピースハイブリッドロック・バンド。
2006 年1月binyl recordsより1st シングル ｢fly｣ をリリース！ そのメンバー構成が象徴するように "ジャンル" にとらわれない "サウンドアプローチ" で英語と日本語を "ナチュラル" に融合させる "リリック"、そして "誰しもの感情や記憶を揺らすような普遍性に満ちたメロディー" を武器にして "自由でボーダ・レスなGood Music" を生み続けているオンリー・ワンバンド。2nd シングルの ｢Around The World｣ はフジテレビ系ドラマ ｢西遊記｣ の主題歌として爆発的なヒットを記録！ CM ソングに ｢空はまるで｣ が起用されアーティスト性を確立した。
2011年1月には ｢東北観光親善大使｣ に任命されるなどし、東日本大震災復興支援プロジェクト ｢SEND愛｣ を主催し、2012年12月には第3弾のチャリティーライブ ｢SEND愛｣ を行い東北復興支援に向けた活動を継続している。
また昨年は、アジア・北米など初のワールドツアーを成功させるなど精力的に活動を行っている。
